Industrial Automation Connectivity

Connector architecture for sensors, actuators, Ethernet, distributed I/O and machine power.

Industrial automation connector application
Application illustration · connection architecture is finalized against the equipment drawing.
Application engineering

Connect sensors, controls, networks and machine power as one system.

A dependable automation architecture separates sensor signal, industrial Ethernet and auxiliary power, while keeping every field connection serviceable. LMConn supports compact device interfaces, cabinet feedthroughs and complete cable assemblies for new machines and retrofit programs.

Connection requirements

What the system must connect

  • M5 and M8 interfaces for compact proximity, photoelectric and pressure sensors.
  • M12 A-coded connections for sensors, actuators, valves and distributed I/O.
  • M12 D- or X-coded and M12-to-RJ45 assemblies for industrial Ethernet.
  • Panel-mount and PCB receptacles for controllers, junction boxes and machine enclosures.
  • Defined cable jackets, shielding and bend radius for fixed or moving routes.
Engineering workflow

Define before release

  1. Map each device by signal, data or power duty.
  2. Confirm connector gender, coding, pin count and mating part.
  3. Choose cable exit, mounting side and available service clearance.
  4. Release pin map, shield termination, cable length and electrical tests.
