Custom development starts with an interface-control drawing
LMConn can organize a project around standard connector platforms, mixed-interface cable assemblies and defined wiring requirements. Feasibility depends on the approved specification.
Typical configurable elements
- Connector ends, contact gender, orientation and mating component
- Pin mapping, shield and drain-wire termination
- Cable length, conductor size, jacket, color and flexibility
- Overmolding, strain relief, labels and packaging
- Continuity, insulation, high-potential and visual tests
Project stages
Requirement review → drawing and quotation → prototype → validation → production approval → controlled repeat orders.
What makes a requirement production-ready
A useful interface-control drawing names both connector ends, shows contact-face orientation and maps every circuit pin to pin. It also controls cable construction, length and tolerance, shield termination, labels, critical dimensions and test requirements.
Prototype approval should answer three questions: does it mate and fit, does it carry the intended signal or power, and does it survive the intended installation and motion? Once approved, the drawing revision becomes the reference for repeat orders. Proposed changes to connector, cable, overmold or test method should be reviewed before use.
Feasibility inputs
- Target and annual quantity with schedule.
- Mating interfaces and mechanical envelope.
- Electrical load, protocol and pin map.
- Environment, movement and life target.
- Required validation records and acceptance criteria.
